Lighthouses

The main subjects of my actual free block of the month are lighthouses. Furthermore there will be some motivs around shipping and ocean.

For I don’t have as much time as I want, first I considered to release the blocks only every second month or to pause for one year. But then I decided to arrange the new bom series as a mystery quilt, too. So from time to time I will issue files for the assembling of the top instead of a new motiv block. After two years you will have got a summerly, colorful lighthouse quilt, which shall remind you of holidays and ocean.

Of course you can design completely different quilts with these blocks. Maybe you want to sew a small quilt, with only one lighthouse as center? Perhaps complemented by some of the smaller motiv blocks?

The series will consist of eight lighthouses in various sizes and from different countries as well as eight maritime blocks.

So you don’t have to wait in vain for a lighthouse from your contry – here are the locations: certainly one is from Germany, four more from Europe, precisely from the Netherlands, France, Great Britain and Denmark, the last three are overseas lighthouses from the USA, Canada and Brazil.

The motiv blocks stay online free for one month.

Thereafter you can order backdated patterns in my shop. The instructions to assemble the top stay online for free until the entire series is finished. The size of the complete quilt is 46 x 53 inch.

Have fun sewing and collecting the patterns!

The blocks come in different sizes. These patterns are for advanced paperpiecing skills.
They contain many very small pieces and therefore you have to
manage a lot of thick seam allowances.
